My concerns about the City of Dearborn

Our families are experiencing difficult times, more than any other time we've seen ever before. Dearborn is now in a position no different than our neighboring cities and cities across the country: economically and financially strained. Our families and communities are also experiencing an ever-changing world in which fundamental American values are being challenged. These problems are trickling down to every member of every household, and children are the most affected by these stressful times. We must collectively work together to fight through this period and ensure that every household, business and our city government can withstand these times. The city also has to move towards the needs of the next generation in this changing world.

My vision for change in Dearborn

Dearborn is a city where the past generations believed in the city, honored the city, and most importantly felt loyal and proud towards the city. Dearborn is the great Ford Motor Company, the wonderful museums and universities, the successful businesses, and the strong family and neighborhood bonds. But there is a need for growth and change if we are to successfully forge ahead. As a councilman, I will advocate for change in direction, as we go forward in this new century. It is our duty to continue moving to keep up with the pace of society, technology and security. We must position the city to have the capabilities to relate to the needs of the next generation, and a change in services that meets the challenges and demands of our future city. These strategic moves must place Dearborn among thriving communities around the world. Dearborn is home to almost one hundred thousand residents, all of whom are proud of the police, fire and city services, all of whom are proud of the quality of life and standard of living, all of whom are proud of one, unified Dearborn. We are the seventh most populous city in the state, and we need to start to work to sustain our positive reputation, and also plan for growth.

Message of my campaign

My campaign for city council is centered on a message of Family, Growth, and Change. These are three very crucial ideas that we must focus on, and I am committed to work on these ideas both in my campaign and as a future councilman. First of all, I strongly believe that the foundation of our city is our families. Stable families, safe and thriving neighborhoods, and a strong community is at the heart of Dearborn’s character. Second of all, growth for me is represented in our business community, both in its history and in its future. In order for us to maintain the vitality and health of our city’s economy, we must focus on business retention, job growth, and economic development. I would like to welcom new businesses in areas that develop environmental technologies and businesses that encourage a modern answer to the demands of our residents. And finally, Change. There is a need for us to look forward and look inward. What does our city need to maintain its status in a changing world? How can we relieve the tax burden on our residents? We must prepare Dearborn for the 21st Century. We must insure that Dearborn measures up to the hopes of progress, and the promise of technology, security, and growth. We need change that is appropriate and beneficial for the future of our city.
